Draft GPUS Platform Amendment Section Changes

CHAPTER 1: GRASSROOTS DEMOCRACY

Delete section called, "Community."

Delete section called, "Domestic Security."

CHAPTER 2: SOCIAL JUSTICE

Delete section called, "Civil Rights and Equal Rights."

Delete section called, "Religious Freedom and Secular Equality."

Delete section called "War on Terrorism."

All subsections of "Civil Rights and Equal Rights" from 2004 platform shall become stand-alone sections.

Move "Education and Arts" section from Chapter 2 "Social Justice" to Chapter 1 "Grassroots Democracy." Separate them into two distinct sections.

Delete section called, "Economic Justice/Social Safety Net."

CHAPTER 3: ECONOMIC JUSTICE

Change name of Chapter 3 from "Economic Sustainability" to "Economic Justice and Sustainability."

Delete section called, "Small business and the self-employed."

Move "Trade" section from Chapter 1 to Chapter 3.

Delete section called, "Anti-trust Enforcement."

CHAPTER 4: ECOLOGICAL WISDOM

Delete section "Economics Justice" section.

CHAPTER 5: NON-VIOLENCE

Move "Peace and disarmament" section from Chapter 1 "Democracy" to Chapter 5 "Non-violence."

Move "A real road to peace in the Middle East" from Chapter 1 "Democracy" to Chapter 5 "Non-violence."

Move "Demilitarization of space" from Chapter 1 "Democracy" to Chapter 5 "Non-violence."
